At Simployer, we ask those of you applying for jobs what is crucial when choosing a new employer. Each applicant can mention up to three things. Here is the top list of the five things most people look for:

  1. Career and growth and development opportunities
  2. Opportunities for learning and skill development
  3. Work environment and office culture
  4. Work-life balance
  5. Company culture and values

Other things mentioned, but not by as many, include job security, company reputation, innovation, hybrid work, and specific job tasks and responsibilities.

At Simployer, we use our own medicine – that is, we conduct regular surveys among employees with Simployer &frankly

Some examples of actual results from quarterly pulse surveys at Simployer.

Among the questions we ask are:

  • Do you think Simployer is making the best use of your skills?
  • Do you get the opportunity to grow & develop?
  • Do you think our goals are taking us in the right direction?
  • Are you motivated by our culture, or isn’t the culture relevant to you?
  • How would you say we treat each other at work, respectfully or disrespectfully?

Happily, we see that our employees, on average, respond close to daily and are on the desired side of the midpoint when it comes to questions about strategies and corporate culture.

We assume that candidates, employees, and former employees have a dialogue about the things important to you job seekers. Since we measure this, we can also clarify in the interview if what you have heard is representative of the majority. The reports in Simployer &frankly fix that. We also share these reports with our employees, so everyone can see results for their team and department and the overall company.
